Sabrosa Vida’s Monthly Recipe

Sabrosa Vida is a free chef-led cooking and nutritional educational program funded by the Health Foundation in partnership with the El Paso Center for Diabetes.

New partnership helps screen dental patients for diabetes

August 24, 2023

With funding from the Health Foundation, the Hunt School of Dental Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC-El Paso) is screening patients for diabetes at the TTUHSC-El Paso Oral Health Clinic.

The program engages dental students, TTUHSC-El Paso faculty, and community health workers to assess a patient’s risk for diabetes and, if the patient is at risk, navigate them to a primary care provider.
