The BOOST Network, a one-stop shop for summer programs

April 22, 2023

As the summer break approaches, the search for programs for children and youth can be unwieldy. The BOOST Network offers a practical solution for parents and youth to find the program best aligned with the interests, budget, and location of its seeker through the Spring Into Summer campaign.

This awareness campaign promotes enrollment in summer programs offered by the region’s out-of-school-time (OST) providers. The BOOST Network compiled a comprehensive list of summer programs in the Paso del Norte region (El Paso, southern New Mexico, and Ciudad Juárez). The Summer Resource Guide can be found at This guide lets users filter their search by age range and location, type of activity, registration deadlines, duration of camps, and how to enroll, among other information.

The BOOST Network website also contains other helpful resources for parents for year-long out-of-school time programs.

Research shows that youth who participate in quality OST programs are more likely to stay in school, stay out of trouble, engage less in risky behaviors, and increase children and youth’s ability to make better life choices. OST programs also support the healthier development of youth’s mental, social, emotional, and physical health.

BOOST is also a hub for out-of-school time (OST) providers to work together to identify community needs and create quality programs that benefit families in west Texas, southern New Mexico, and Ciudad Juárez, MX. BOOST is housed at the United Way of El Paso County and supported by a Paso del Norte Health Foundation grant under the Healthy Kids Initiative. Both institutions are committed to the long-term well-being of people in our region, and we know that a healthy, engaged community starts with healthy, active youth.
