Together, Fearless, We Count - Census 2020 is on the Horizon

Be on the lookout! By April 1, 2020, every home will receive an invitation to participate in the 2020 Census.

From March through May, numerous events and reminder messages will be coordinated to address how vital it is for the region to have an accurate count.

Census results help determine how billions of dollars in federal funding flow into states and communities each year. The results are used to determine how much funding local communities receive for key public services and how many seats each state gets in Congress. Businesses of all sizes depend on census data to make decisions about where to locate, hire, and invest.

How can you help?

Respond - Once that invitation arrives, respond in one of three ways: phone, mail, or for the first time an online response option is available. Complete the questions and tell friends and relatives to do the same. Information from responses is not shared with anyone, including other federal agencies, and the Census Bureau does not publish any information about individual households or businesses. Data collected will only be used to create statistics. The Census Bureau has legal, procedural, technological, and statistical safeguards to ensure that information provided is not disclosed to anyone.
