Two new additions and a promotion to the Health Foundation Team

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation is pleased to welcome Sandra Day and Audrey Garcia to the Foundation team.

Ms. Day brings more than 10 years of experience in the public health sector working for nonprofit, as well as the federal government sector. As an associate program officer, she will respond to trends and activities in the community. She is currently orienting with all program work and will be assigned to specific projects and initiatives later in 2021.

Pop-up vaccination clinics targeting young men kick off at El Paso Locomotive match

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation (PdNHF) and El Paso County are Reducing the Risk of COVID-19 by taking vaccines directly to men ages 18-50 years old in El Paso. According to County data and recent PdNHF focus groups, that demographic group is among the least vaccinated and least inclined to get vaccinated in the region.

The Rio Grande Cancer Foundation (RGCF) has launched a new website designed specifically for recently diagnosed cancer patients and their caregivers. The website, www.cancerhelpcenter.org, provides a direct connection to the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation, allowing patients to quickly access information about their diagnoses, support services and financial assistance. Cooking Classes Empowers Tornillo Students and their Families

Cooking classes at Tornillo ISD were recently provided to students and their families to learn to make affordable, nutritious, and delicious meals. Common Threads, a national nonprofit organization, offered the classes over the summer with a focus on teaching families how to cook together and incorporate healthy habits at home all while exploring different cultures. Participants of the class prepared a Greek Gyro and spaghetti with tomato and vegetable sauce as they learned about Greek and Italian culture.

The City of El Paso is one of various healthcare providers approved by the State to dispense the COVID-19 vaccine. You can register and schedule an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine with the City of El Paso or show up at any of the City’s vaccination sites without an appointment.

Sunland Park Adopts Trails Master Plan

The Sunland Park City Council recently adopted a Trails Master Plan which builds on the many years of planning and development of regional trail networks.
