The Out-of-School Time (OST) Library is an electronic, comprehensive resource for out-of-school time professionals, grant writers, educators, policymakers, researchers, and others looking to increase their knowledge and support on the importance of OST in the region.
The library includes publications, training materials, webinars, tool kits and data on a variety of topics such as positive youth development, school health, and much more. New resources include best practices and reopening guidelines among other tools related to OST and COVID-19.

A couple of years ago a group of individuals, businesses, elected officials, and service organizations came together to form the El Paso Mobility Coalition (EMCO). The organization is housed within the El Paso Chamber of Commerce. The stated goals and objectives of the coalition are to advance and support transportation initiatives in the El Paso region. One of the roadways that has risen to the top of the list of needs is the I-10 Corridor, El Paso’s major throughway and connector.

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation was recently named a recipient of the 2020 SHIFT Award for their work on the Paso del Norte Trail.
The SHIFT Award recognizes individuals, initiatives or organizations from around the United States, that advances or promotes the health benefits of outdoor recreation. Health Foundation awards two new grants to support Alcohol Prevention and Healthy Kids Initiatives

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation recently awarded two grants totaling more than $755,000 under the Shift + and Healthy Kids Initiatives. The purpose of the Shift+ initiative is to reduce underage drinking and binge drinking in all ages, and the Healthy Kids initiative’s goal is to improve a range of healthy outcomes by engaging disconnected youth in high quality programs during out-of-school hours.

Awareness Campaign Launches in Borderland to Better Educate Adults
Recent focus group interviews conducted in the El Paso and Las Cruces area confirmed that middle school and high school-aged students often know more about e-cigarettes and vaping than their parents.
