Creative Kids program recognized by Texas Partnership of Out of School Time

September 21, 2021

Co-Founders Andrea Gates-Ingle and Stephen Ingle discuss how Creative Kids cultivates the best in youth by immersing them in the visual arts in a new story feature by the Texas Partnership for Out of School Time (TXPOST).

Creative Kids’ hands-on out of school time (OST) programs reach targeted populations of kids who otherwise would have little to no exposure to the arts or OST opportunities. All program curricula are embedded with a strong social-emotional learning component so that in addition to making art, kids are learning leadership skills, strengthening their self-esteem, and developing a sense of purpose and discipline.

Creative Kids is a grantee of the Paso del Norte Health Foundation’s Healthy Kids Initiative and BOOST Network provider. The Healthy Kids Initiative goal is to improve a range of health outcomes by engaging disconnected youth in quality out-of-school programs. The Health Foundation has partnered with the United of El Paso County to manage the BOOST Network and support OST providers across the region as a resource for parents seeking quality OST programs for their children.

The Texas Partnership for Out of School Time is a statewide intermediary whose mission is to convene, educate, and advocate to improve the quality and increase the availability of out-of-school time opportunities for Texas youth.
