Get vaccinated; get a free Cinemark gift certificate

October 19, 2021

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation (PdNHF) and El Paso County are Reducing the Risk of COVID-19 by taking vaccines directly to men age 18-50 years old in El Paso – all while giving away free movie tickets and other goodies as an incentive to get vaccinated against COVID-19. According to County data and recent PdNHF focus groups, that demographic group is among the least vaccinated and least inclined to get vaccinated in the region.

The next pop-up vaccine clinic is Friday, October 29, 2021, from 6-10 pm at the Cinemark Tinseltown, 11855 Gateway Blvd. West

Those who get vaccinated during the pop-up will be rewarded with a Cinemark gift certificate, as well as other giveaways, including hats, reusable water bottles and more.

“While El Paso has a great vaccination rate, our focus is on those who are least inclined to get vaccinated. Efforts such as this one with Cinemark are a great way to reach our target group where they are,” said Dr. Michael Kelly, Vice President of Programs at PdNHF. “A gentleman in his mid-30s was recently vaccinated at one of our pop-up events, not because he was going to a movie, but it was close to home, and he was tired of getting tested at work every week.”

Other participants in the Reduce the Risk campaign include the City of El Paso, the Paso del Norte Community Foundation, UTEP’s Border Biomedical Research Center, Texas Tech University Health Science Center El Paso, Texas A&M University’s Colonias Program, the National COVID-19 Resiliency Network, the Rio Grande Council of Governments, University Medical Center, El Paso County Emergency Services District 2, Centro San Vicente and the Empowerment Congress of Doña Ana County.
