At Risk for Diabetes? Take the Risk Test

If you feel like you may be at risk of diabetes, take the Risk Test. By answering a few questions, it will estimate the percentage of risk you may have. The questions include what your age, gender, race is and symptoms you may be experiencing. Such as increased thirst, urination and more. At the end of the test, you are given a score from 0 to 10, 10 being more at risk for diabetes. Dental patients to receive diabetes screening at Texas Tech Dental Oral Health Clinic

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation in partnership with the Hunt School of Medicine recently announced a new program that will screen dental patients for diabetes at the Texas Tech Dental Oral Health Clinic.

Diabetes is a serious condition that can lead to heart disease, chronic kidney disease, nerve damage, and problems with feet, oral health, vision, hearing, and mental health. Do you know what are the signs and symptoms of diabetes?

The El Paso Center for Diabetes and the Paso del Norte Health Foundation have partnered to create a new campaign to help the community identify the signs and symptoms of diabetes.

The new video campaign shares how sometimes unnoticeable issues can grow into a bigger problem. Frequent peeing, increased hunger and thirst can all be indicators of diabetes. Knowing the signs and symptoms and speaking to a physician early on can help spot diabetes sooner and prevent it from becoming a larger problem. REALIZE Board – April Lunch and Learn Sessions – In Person!

Looking to join a nonprofit board with the understanding of best practices in nonprofit governance? REALIZE Board provides workshops and training sessions designed to strengthen nonprofit governance in our region. The Lunch and Learn training series includes 1-hour modules focused on topics like board member roles and responsibilities, board cycle and structure, effective board meetings, and fundraising.

Fun activity along the Playa Drain Trail

March 29, 2023

Get Fit on the Playa event was recently held on the newest section of the Playa Drain Trail. More than 200 participants walked and biked along the newly completed section between Yarborough Drive and Knights Drive. Participants received tips on the importance of stretching and staying hydrated along the way. Other fun activities included jump rope and hula hoop stations.

The City of El Paso completed this section in the fall of 2022 and is working on another section near Ysleta High School. Once this section is complete, the Playa Drain Trail will be 8.3 miles.
